Hello Group,
I am 66 and have been a Ford guy all my life. Currently, I'm on my 5th. Ranger (04 Flareside Edge with V6 manual) and just bought my first Explorer. We moved to the mountains a few years ago and find we need a 4x4. So, I was lucky to find a Southwest, one owner 08 XLT 4x4, with V8 and 56,000 miles. So far, Im very happy. It's a stock truck, but the original owner was the Federal Government in New Mexico. They installed a lot of strange electronic equipment in the cargo area behind the back seat. It does not have a third seat, which is fine with me. However, it's missing the cargo bay covers from back there and the divider that goes between them. The storage box from under the back and the carpeted flaps that extend when the rear seat is folded down was just thrown in the back of the vehicle. Some add-on electronics need to be removed before I can reinstall it. So, here's my point in this roundabout message. I have been able to buy the divider that goes in the cargo bay and the front cargo bay cover, both NOS from Ford. The rear cover I can not find. Does anybody have one, perhaps from a conversion from two seater to three seater. Or, maybe you just have one laing around, lol! Also, the carpet on the back of my rear seat is light gray, but the floor carpet is black. The flaps on the underwear storage box are black. The rear cover I bought is black. Is that the correct color for that area? It looks kind of strange butting up to the light gray on back of seat. Is this how it came from the factory? The photo is the underseat storage box and divider. Thanks in advance for any advice/input! Steven

Have you looked at salvage yards? The odds are you can find an Explorer with the parts you need. It just might take some looking at various salvage yards to get what you need in the right color.

Yes, thank you, I have put the word out to wrecking yards nationally and I'm calling individual yards in SoCal. One will turn up somewhere!

That is a pretty good find. I was also a long time Ranger guy and went to a Explorer. Sorry, no help.

Yes, very happy with the Exlorer. Just needs a few bits and pieces. Still have my Ranger too!

That is a pretty big gap. We're (my son's) Selling 2009 AWD now. I got a new SUV and he wanted my old one. His V8 has 228k Km on it and runs smooth without issues. We've got new plugs in the glove box when we bought it. But didn't see the need to swap as power, mpg, idling etc all normal. Some exhaust noise which goes away after a minute or two as it warms up. Likely exhaust bolts issue popped and were a few popped when we bought it.

I'd look around the hoses and connectors around the EGR to see if something is wrong. Older vehicle can have brittle hoses which can crack the leak when moved or flexed. Maybe what happened.
