Hey guys!! Im new and i must say.. This site is awesome. So heres a little bout me, im 16 i drive a 96 eddie bauer 4wd with tt/shackles no runnin boards and 275/70/16 blue streak patriot a/t. I looove it. I ride with a few of my buddys who have a ranger(go ford) and two more guys have jeep cherokees. Well my X will hang with them but.. I want to do some mods to it mostly to the engine for a bit more power! Yes, money is a aspect.. Who am i kiddin? its gotta be reasonably cheap. Any suggestions? Please help. Oh and it has straights. I do all the mechnical work myself so thats no issue. Thanks for any help!!!

welcome. imo i wud make sure all the fluids are clean and the mechanics are sound before $ on mods. a quick fix for sticky valves and bogging due to carbon is seafoam $8.99 - you tube it :-)
 






Thanks! I aint done that yet. i think i'll try it! I drained all fluids and put brand new ones in. I used seafoam to clean a gas tank out of an old 1950 chevy i had, it worked great!! THank you for replying!
 






I would do a seafoam cleaning and then swap out fluids for fresh like raga said. Which engine are you running?
 






cheap mod would be cold air it. you dont need the $$$ kits. just get one of the adapter plates to hook a spectra or KNN filter to your MAF. should give you some more power for not even $50
 






sounds sick can we see some pictures of it?
 






Intake, exhaust, and maybe chip. Don't expect miracles, though.
