I Have To Pull My Engine To Change The Rings Before They Create Anymore Problems. I'm Going To Redo All The Engine Gaskets At The Same Time. And FULL Tune-up (Even Trans FIlter)

Does Anyone Have Any Advice as To What I Could Do Top Beef It Up More While It's Apart? Thanks! :us:

Speed cost money, how you wanna go? :D

65mm BBK TB
70mm MAF
Comp cams 410(mild) or 422(Street) = both require longer pushrods
Headers - Dont bother unless you plan to go forced induction
P&P heads

How many miles are on the engine? What about bearings and a valve job?

valves are getting done. about 200,000 on the engine. And If Something is A Good Modification, I'll Find The Cash. Thanks!

I wouldn't work the stock heads. Aftermarket castings are the way to go.

Where Would I Find Aftermarket Castings? I replaced The ones On My 93' X, But They Were Originals. I'm A Straight Junkyard Advance Auto Freak, SO I Need a Bit Of Guidance... PLEASE!!!! :us:

I don't think you will find an after market set in the junkyard. The newer casting heads are better, but they have different combustion chambers which would change the compression. Below are a couple of links. The last one is a google search. Use the search function. I personaly have a 2000 motor in my 91.

4.0 parts breakdown
Google search - Rebuilding the Frod 4.0 V6

If you are modifying it a lot, maybe use the bigger injectors, and high volume fuel pump. They also make an adjustable fuel pressure regulator to fine tune it. You could also use underdrive/overdrive pulleys, and synthetic fluids.

i would also do a quick hone to the cylinders just to give it better compression

Improved aftermarket heads

I have a new set of the European heads that are completely assembled and ready to install if you need them. Let me know.

New heads = MHALE castings from Alabama Cylinder Head

New bearings, either Sealed Power or Clevite

New timing set, Clyotes or Melling

New oil pump + shaft, Melling

Rings: Sealed power, Clevite, Hastings, or Ford

Gaskets: Best to go with Ford, Felpro will work. Use ford Lower Intake and Valve cover gaskets to prevent vaccume and oil leaks.

If you want higher compression using factory ford parts, SOHC pistons/rings/rods will bolt onto the OHV crank. I'm using SOHC pistons with my build.

SOHC pistons + 91-94 heads = 10:1 compression

95-00 Heads + 91-94 pistons = 10:1 compression

95-00 heads + SOHC pistons = 11:1

sounds like music in the ears of big daddy will it work and how long :)

Fyi this is a really old thread and those numbers are off slightly. .sohc pistons really should not be used in a ohv, especially with 95-00 heads
