I'm thinking about upgrading my shocks to either the Rancho RSXs, or the Edelbrock IASs. I was wondering, is their any major differences between them and if so which would you give the nod too?

Also, the local shop will install them for $25 each. I think that's worth it to me over spending 4 hours on the project. Ya'll agree?

Thanks!

I have the ISas and really like them.

It took no where near 4 hrs to replace; do it yourself.

Good luck.....

If you do any offroading, I wouldn't get the Edelbrocks. They tend to get beat up too much on the trail and lose performance.

Thanks guys for the quick responses. I don't offroad (well, at least I don't at this point, don't really know where to go in the Chicago area) so I'm not too worried about that. Mostly my trip consists of to/from work and the once a month 1000 mile round trip to Iowa. The long trips with the family / dog in the truck is what I want to 'smooth' out.

So, $210 for new RSXs (the 4th free deal) or $280 for the IASs, "I'm torn..."

Ryan,
Before you spend all that money on Edelbrocks, take a look at Gabriel VST shocks. They have a similar dual valving action to the Edelbrocks but cost way less than Edelbrocks.

I agree with Ray, but I tend to 'talk-up' Gabriels too much, so I was gonna let someone else do it :)

i also recomend the gabriel vst shocks. you can do your whole truck for $120 or so and i think that they perform great on and off road.

Alright - sounds great to me! The local Pep-Bo** quoted me $123 installed - sounds like a great deal to me.

The guy also mentioned their new Maxcontrol shock too, it came out about $225 installed. I've seen it on their website, but I don't know anything about it. Do you guys?

Also, thanks for getting back to me so soon!

my dad has them on his jeep GC and likes them, but in all honesty the only that jeep has been of road is when i stole it and drove to the lake. they worked nicely but seemed like stock. the gabriels are a truck shock and have a tried and true name and quality.. plus my name is Gabriel so i am biased:D
