Well I finally had to replace my front door speakers in my 98 Explorer. Working for a car stereo shop I had my choice of MB Quart, Pioneer,Alpine, Polk, Infinity, Kenwood, Alpine,Sony, and a few other. I went with the Alpine SPR-574A after listning to all other choices in my truck I prefered the sound from these.
When I was looking I prefered the Infinity Kappas in the stereo board and thought the Alpines were to bright in the board. But in the truck the Infinitys lost most of there hi end and the Alpine sounded just right to me. It just goes to show that you can not judge speakers in a sound room.
So if anyone looks at trying these do not go buy what they sound like in a demo board.

hey brian, havent seen you around in a while.

a friend of mine has those Alpines (only the 6.5") in his neon. they do sounde really good. what are you powering them with?

I have been busy at work. I check in when I get time. I am working on a 2002 Lexus IS300. Customer doing MB quarts front and rear, 2 12" MTX 8000 in a plexi window box with neon and mirrored plexi inside., Kenwood 911 DVD player and a 4 channle MTX with a MTX mono amp on the subs.
Believe it or not but I have the factory radio still in it. My next step is a R type 10" sub with the new Alpine 300 mono amp. I am think of building a box for the side panel but I do not know if I have time. I am thinking of getting a empty thunder form and putting it in there. It will cost me around $60 through MTX.
