Please Help With Some New Speakers

I am debating between some component or just regular aftermarket speakers. I was thinking about going with Infinity. But I am still learning so I have some questions. With components do you only replace the front speakers with these? What do you do with the rear speakers? And why do people put a 5 1/4" component system in? Why dont they put a 6x8 component system in? Also what brand would you go with?

I'm doing the same thing, learning as I go, I think the audiophiles will say you need components up front. But I'm leaning towards four Infinity Reference 6802CF, they were on sale at circuit city last week, but not anymore, missed my chance, lol.
I think they are being phased out for the loudspeaker series, 6812CF.

Most people only replace the front speakers with component speakers.

i put components in the back, so people could hear highs, and not have them drowned out by my sub woofers. i really like the way it sounds. they are infinity reference 6800's i believe (i can't check because i'm laid up on the couch after getting wisdom teeth pulled)

Infinity speakers are awesome even not amped.
