New stereo.

:exp:Hello everyone, My name is Troy and I have a question. I have had two explorers, on my second one now and I'm very pleased, I love them. My only problem is that I have tried to put an after market stereo in both with no luck. The stereo comes on but no sound. Does anyone have an idea what I'm doing wrong. I would appreciate any help. Thanks

was the original stereo premium sound? if so it has an amp and screwy wiring. Can be worked around or made to work (like I have done for now).

I just had the same problem with my 98 on friday. It was very frutrating untill i learned i had an amp. All i had to do then was hook up the two wires that were blue with white stripes. Hopes this helps.
