new subs and amp

i just got home from picking up 2 audio bahn subs in a box and a 1600 watt pyramid amp for 80 bucks! what do you guys think? im a little concerned it wont be very loud in such a big truck

Don't expect it to be too loud. That Pyramid amp does not put out 1600 watts RMS...

Audiobahn is a very low quality brand that has gone out of business.

Pyramid is a very very low quality brand sold at flea markets.

I would expect around 100 watts from the amp and the subs are a shot in the dark without model numbers.

The main discerning factor of "loudness" is the enclosure. Go buy a prefab and it will not be loud.

yeah audiobahn isnt what it used to be bout 10 years ago and, well, pyramid is pyramid... really just depends on how you have it set up and your enclosure. dont expect them to blow any eardrums but if done right you can make them sound decent. but hell, for 80 bux it will sound better than stock.

audiobahn is crap...always was. The only good woofers they ever had were rebadged from another company. Pyramid is widely known to be junk.

Explorers are one of the easiest vehicles in the world to make loud if you know a bit about what you're doing...but you cant use the worst gear possible lol. Thats like expecting your truck to run like a dream with a mixture of 50% gas 50% water in the tank just because filling it up is cheaper.

well i also have a pioneer 12 with a custom box made of mdf wood and sealed with silicone. maybe ill use that. but really i just needed an amp, i dont care if its crappy, it was cheap
