Welcome to the world of Explorer owners. I am in the mist of doing a full blown out upgrade to my system. I don't know really what you are asking us here, but maybe this will help ya. I can tell you what some of us are doing, we buy a high quality part here and a part there till we have enough to put togeather an "alright" system. There are allot of small details that you are leaving out. The type of music that you listen too is just a small part of a huge puzzle. For instance, how much money do you want to spend in all? How do you want to do it, buy a little here and there and install it each time right away? Or do you want to go for the big gonzo and spend a bunch on components one at a time and then install them all togeather when you have everything? That is what I did. If I were you, and I am not, I would watch the For Sale forum and pick up something like a box now with subs and amps that are already made for an Explorer. That would be a great start. After that, then you could get a great head unit to go with it that plays MP3's and such and maybe also get's XM or Sirrus. I use XM so I am not too sure of the other station. I have seen several sub boxes for sell in the forum that were great deals and a great start to building you a system.
