New to explorers..need tranny help please

hey, i just got a heck of a deal for a 91 explorer 4x4 for $700. it needs a transmission though, im new to fords and was wondering if someone could tell me what kinda transmission is in my truck? or how do i find out?

Hey there Aaron -- if you have an automatic transmission, then you have the A4LD

but without knowing more cant say that 700 is a good price for an x with a blown tranny

haha yeah...i went to pick it up yesterday with the trailer and the guy didnt have any papers for it..i told him ill pick it up when he has the papers..but down the road from my house i found another x that runs good (actually drives) lol just needs a new left front hub and rad leaks a little bit...i can fix all those easily enough though..i offered the guy 700 and he took it then i asked for papers and he didnt have any either! lol i have to call my insurance place and see if i can register it with just bill of sale
