- 97 Ford Explorer XL 5spd
Just picked up my 97 Explorer cheap to change the transfer case and flip it. Had to do a little mix and match on the transfer case as the spare I got was for an automatic and mine is a 5 spd. Different speedo cable hookup. LOL
One thing leads to another and yesterday I replaced all the dash light bulbs. One was still working. Chasing a drive train noise and I discovered play in the right rear wheel/axle bearing. On line research brought me here where I found Gavin's article on bearing/seal replacement. Any time I can find detailed info like that I'm at the right place.
Starting to like this vehicle. We'll see how it goes once I get the bearings/seals replaced and find some front seats that aren't destroyed so I can see over the steering wheel.
