- '98 Eddie Bauer Explorer
Howdy fellow Explorer enthusiasts! I thought I'd make the time to get registered on here as I am a proud new owner of a BABIED 1998 Eddie Bauer Explorer that I practically STOLE off Craigslist! Check it out!
* Power Everything, incl. moonroof.
* Leather and all seats have been regularly conditioned and show NO wear...well they show 'wear' but like a killer pair of leather boots that are like slippers to wear!
* 4.0 V6 SOHC stock original with 110,000 miles
* Owner included receipts of having FORD DEALER DO ALL MAINTENANCE AND SERVICE ITS WHOLE LIFE!!!
* Never seen GRAVEL!
Sitting down? Picked it up for $3000! First things first, however. Since it does have over 100k, I immediately bought new hubs (incl. bearings) rotors and brakes and a fresh set of Goodyear Wrangler RT/S P25575R16's all around. I also am putting on a grill/brush guard with Warn 7500 winch and full set of Bosch 4-way plugs and new HEI wires, K&N filter and new hi-intensity fog lamp bulbs.
When all is said and done, I will have about $5500 into it. I Kelly Blue Booked a private party sale before I paid and saw that the way it was, I could have easily been looking at a $5500-6000 ride and to get it for 1/2 that, well, this explains why I'm so happy to pour all this into it right away!
This is my 3rd (and by far Nicest) Explorer. First was a '93 XLT with same options as above and it was super nice, especially since I bought it NEW. Next was a 2000 XLS 4-door. Pretty plain jane 4X2. Bought new in Florida. Then ffwd to now and this honey! This is going to be my pride and joy! She is my accompaniment to my '96 Ford Ranger XLT Supercab 4X4 that I bought new in '97. It now has 157,000 PROBLEM FREE miles! No drips, no issues! I love these little trucks!
Thanks for letting me jump on here and introduce myself. If anyone has any information on doing a small body lift on this '98, please let me know! I've tried to find kits online and it seems like they all quit at '97. I don't know why.
Thanks!
