Well, I finally felt up to working on my truck today. I got around to putting the new rear bumper on it. I wish I took some pics while I was doing it but I was too busy working :)

Sorry the case on my phone got in the way, but you get the idea.

I also cut the lower fenders off below the trim since all they do is collect mud when off roading, LOL.

I bought the bumper from wanderer351 in the for sale forum, here it was on his truck. I may be a little partial, but I think it looks better on my truck. http://www.rrorc.com/gallery/data/500/medium/2918104_0433.JPG

Now I really need to do my exhaust because that pipe looks awful right there.

:D haha chris you dawg!!! i like it a lot!! Your right about the exhuast though...looks strange. IS it welded t the frame or bolted on?

You know what you have to do right? wip that lift on get those tires mounted. :D

It doesn't look right on the truck...would look great if it was on 33s. :p Looks good man.

I agree, 32's goin on within the next couple months, don't worry. :D

It's bolted on w/4 bolts.

chris looks great...a little off center(could be the pic) so when are we going to build those front bumpers???

Weather's warming up and I am starting to feel better, we should be able to hook up and do it soon.

It's a little bent, but not off center. I'm sure I'm gonna be bending it more on the trails soon :D

good im going to look for a plan for some bumpers....i have to get some $$ first b4 i can build one.

Does the exhaust pipe bend right there where it comes under the fender? You could just cut it off right where it comes out and save getting a new pipe bent. You could even cut it a little farther back and put on a nice chrome tip if you want...just a suggestion.

I plan on doing full duals soon, so, I'm gonna have to bend new ones anyway. I think that I'm gonna make them come out the side right there where that fender is cut off. That would give them one less bend and better flow.

not to sound liek an ass, but that looks like crap, i could fab up a better bumper with no bender and my welder.....

Lets see yours then. We already know you can put a jeep windshield on an explorer better then anyone else so lets see your bumper.

If it was moved in a few more inches I think it would look better but it looks fine as it is. As long as the owner likes it and it isnt unsafe thats all that counts. I think the angle of the picture might be throwing it off a bit though.

Your right, the pipe has to go. Like the look of the bumper, maybe a similar tube style bumper with a receiver could be made for the front? A matching pair!!!

i agree, as long as he likes it. at least you guys have welders that work to do that, mine just catches fire, so i dont try. i'd love to get mine looking like a safri suv, but not with $3 a gallon coming around

That is what I have been thinking about trying to make, then when I get a winch, I can mount it to a plate that plugs into the recievers, and store it out of the weather.

Like I said, I didn't build this one, I bought it because I was being lazy and it was only $125, the same price as a reese hitch kit. The bumper is way lighter than stock too, by at least 20lbs!

dont listen to him chris lol. its cool. but right under the fender wouldnt be suck a good idea in my opinion. Whouldnt you, when coming of a rock crush it. Also the bed would be extreme. I think im gonna be cutting mine after the muffler.

I'm thinking that if I crush the pipe, the fender isn't far behind. LOL. The bend already curves out from the middle of the truck, then cuts back to the back of the truck where you see it now. I was thinking just to send it straight out the side instead of having another bend taking them to the back. Plus 2 the only place to take them out the back is around the bumper where they could get crushed by rocks there too.

just cut the exhaust and put a turn down. especially if your worried about crushing it on rocks. i cut my pipe off right after the muffler and clamped on a turn down. i think it looks good because you cant see it. as they say "out of sight, out of mind". the bumper only looks funny cuz it doesnt follow the curve of the truck. i think its your pictures cuz it looked alright on the other explorer.
