new tranny needed

my transmission, the original from 97, is shot and i need a new one. the guy at the ford place recommened the same one, but just wondering if you guys knew of anything else better.

i have done a ton of searchin on this.. basicly NO.. unless your willing to change to a chevy tranny or swap in a v8.

My 2 cents of advice. Get a new or rebuilt tranny. I tried to go the junk yard route and it took three trannys before I got one that seems to work. Very frustrating and I ended up spending pretty much what Ford wanted. Should have done that in the first place.

We have all suffered along with Malcolm's trials, tribulations and difficulties in reaplacing his transmission and the problems and crooks he ran into as he did so. He is offering sage advice if you were even thinking of a junkyard transmission. Put another way:

"A Junkyard trannie was probably in the right place to begin with"
