Hello everyone.

Just bought a second Sport Trac yesterday.

I saw it listed at an estate sale.

I got it for $1,100

The tag expired in 2011

I put a new battery in it and it cranks good but does not start.

I do not hear the fuel pump whirl when the key is turned to "on"

So far I have swapped the fuel pump relay under the hood and checked for power at the inertia switch. I do not see power at either wire with the key set to 'on'

Please advise and thank you

So I jumped sockets 3 and 5 on the fuel pump relay and did not hear the fuel pump run.

I sprayed some starting fluid in the intake and it started up.

So needs new fuel pump, correct?

That is a characteristic of any fuel injected vehicle when you shoot starter fluid into the throttle body and it starts, but then dies. What year is the "new" truck? How many miles are on it and how long did it sit for?

The truck is a Job 2 2001

Being that the tag expired in 2011 I would guess that the truck has sat for around 5 years or so.

I replaced the fuel pump and the truck now starts but has no oil pressure.

I am going to post a new thread about that issue.
