new truck,need help with 4x4 problem

i got a 94 mazda b4000 5spd 4x4 truck, it has push button 4x4. when i bought the truck the other day the guy said the 4x4 didnt work but he wasnt sure what was wrong with it.

i checked the fuses in the cab and in the engine compartment and they are good. so i was wondering what it could be. had a friend tell me there was a control module on the trans for it, but im not sure.

when i push the button, nothing happens and the light on the control panel does not light up or anything.

does anyone have any ideas

Search the boards for "shift motor" and similar. Usually this ends up being a dirty/tired shift motor. This has been discussed a lot. The search engine here seems to be pretty good. You shouldn't have much trouble finding the information you need.
