Hello all,

Just got an 07 V8 Sport Trac 4X4.

After backing out of my driveway and turning to the right, then shifting into drive and turning left, I notice a momentary chugging or hesitation in the vehicle. It feels like a momentary hesitation, similar to when the 4X4 High or Low is engaged and a tight turn is taken. Is this normal? I dont notice it at any time.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Nick

how many miles are on your tires? I bought my truck with a set of tires that looked like they had never been rotated, fronts were much more worn than the rears. they were worn so unevenly that the rotation difference would cause the transfer case to lock when turning because it sensed the difference in rotation with different circumference tires. A new set of tires and that symptom went away. I've since put another 30k on the new tires and have started to feel it every once in a while again. I think the 4wd system is very sensitive to tire size differences...

I honestly dont know how many are on the tires. The rear ones will need to be replaced soon, down to between 1/4 and 1/2 inch of tread. I guess I will know if this is the cause in a few months when I put new tires on all around.

Noticed also that 1st gear seems to rev a high before shifting somewhat noticably. Might just be that I have driven smaller SUV engines, V6/under 3.0L, for the last few years. Is this normal?
