A while back my truck started making a thumping noise/feeling while turning left or right at any speed. I thought it was a bad spot on my old tires, but when I replaced them it made no difference. If you have ever had a bubble on a tire, then you know what I am feeling. It is getting progressively worse.
A couple of years ago, I replaced the front hubs due to a humming sound when turning. This is a different feeling. I cannot tell if it is from the front or rear. I have jacked up the front and rear, but since my truck is 4-wheel drive, I cannot spin the wheels fast enough to feel any bad spots on the bearings. I did disconnect the front drive shaft, but the sound/vibration is still there. Also I have the dreaded rear-end whine so I cannot hear if any bearings are bad at speed.
There is no play in the front suspension. I replaced the ball joints and tie rod ends when I did the hubs.
The only wiggle I can find in the rear is at the lower control arm bushing (spherical ball joint).
I searched the forum and did not find any posts that described my exact problem. I am a poor man and need to properly diagnose this problem before I start throwing parts at it that I cant afford. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Oh yeah, my ABS light stays on now, but I dont know how that could contribute to this problem.
