Swapped driver's broken original for a new one. The motor only goes in one way. Window was all the way up and to get it down, I have to push down/up repeatedly and fast or it binds immediately and the door panel pushes out and the motor struggles. It rolls up just fine.

I've tried and tried and most of my time is spent lining up the motor to try a different spot on the teeth and ring. The window is on track and the regulator looks fine. I can't figure out why it immediately binds when rolling down!
Any ideas? Ive been trying to line it up a different way by just holding it in place with the bolts out. No matter what, it binds going down.

Edit: there's a U shaped piece that looks like a square staple in front of the motors teeth and it spins about by hand. It's broken off the old motor. Does that have anything to do with it?

I cant help you with this, but I am curious as to which wire is positive, the red or yellow?

I just swapped my door and I and stripping down my old door and will now need to trick the motor to crank it down a little.
thanks
