New Year's 2006, Paragon Adventure Park Hazleton, PA

Perhaps if you asked someone that lives in hazelton to stop by harrys and get you a new hinge you could cure that part. About the cash I cant help you there though. I will be coming from Michigan If I can make it.

lets seeeee,
mi = very nice very nice
la = ooo impressive, gonna be dodging hurricanes huh?
colorado = now thats dedication : )
comeon ppl, this is gonne be alot of fun! wheeling and partying? its like a dream come true!

Eh, hurricanes suck. I spent 2 weeks picking up sticks and raking up leaves after Rita.

Oh yeah? Well... well I'm coming from the icy depths of Fairyland, so hah!

I've been trying to fix Shelby up little by little so she'll be in better shape for this run. So far I've done the oil and fuel filter change, a sorry attempt at an alignment, intake system cleaning, tomorrow's the new thermostat, next week she gets new sparkplugs and an oil sender, plus I'm changing the fluid in both diffs and repacking the front bearings, then extending the diff hoses. I'm going to try very hard to get my 2" superlift springs back from the guy I sold Tank to- if I can I'll get some cheapo shackles too just so I don't mess my rocker panels up anymore than they already are  By the way, if you ever use foam to clean your intake, make sure your rag doesn't fall into the running motor, where it might wrap around a pulley, causing it to seize and throw the belt. Not that I'd do anything like that......... :p

As for the difficulty level of the trails we'll be on, it's mostly just miles of tame trailriding with a few offshoots to more difficult obstacles. I could get a suburu through 90% of what's there, so no worries about breaking and having to drive home, ok? This trip is more about New Year's ;)

Oh man... Looky what I found, guys :D Old Skool! I doubt anyone's bored enough to read the whole thing, but in just one thread: Jeff bought the Zuki, Fug got himself a purty little white Explorer, Chris started a solid axle swap and sold his massive sound system to pay for some of it, Justin wrecked two trucks, I got a Chevy van stuck on the Jersey turnpike, Wolf was trying to get his v8 wired, Matt wanted to buy another Explorer because he'd been wheeling once and gotten addicted and Darren was pulling everybody's leg about getting 36's.

I miss those runs. This thread should be up to 20 pages already by old standards ;) Let's everybody actually show up and make this New Year's one to remember, huh?

Oh, this post in particular made me crack up- a glimpse of the future

im still split on if i can make it or not. I dont know where to party and as to the hinge, if i come ill bring one along.

Ok guys... I think I have a viable plan. After a rather lengthy negotiation to get us a reputable (I use the word loosely :D :p) guide who can get us in, around and out of Paragon safely and in mostly one piece, the plans for New Year's have changed. Yes, I know we said it was closed, but we're special :)

This guide wouldnt hapen to have a 98 Explorer sport with a SAS would he?

Count me in, honkies! One Vermasshole is a-comin down (technically comin up from Hershey) to party, plus one! I'll see if I can get anyone else from over here to come, too.

Sweet! More the merrier :)

I'm about 80% ready for this mess... I'd be 100% if stupid things like this would stop happening

I was happily hammering away on the nut that holds the passenger shock on with my impact (which is now named 'Killer', btw), thinking, 'Shocks are almost done, I get the replacement bushing for the one I lit on fire tuesday, then it's rear brakeline and alignment and she's done! Woot!'

*SNAP*

"Aw mannn.... "

If Konstantine, my silly coworker, calls me "Goddess of Destruction" one more time I'm going to bodily toss his little Greek @$$ into the dumpster :p Who wants to bet I snap a hard brake line??

What DON'T you name? :p

WAIT! You didnt replace the radius arm for that did you? I broke that same thing on a bunch of explorers including my own once. just weld a stud where that used to be. HINT some wheel studs work great.

I am wondering if I should show myself
Don't be skeered to show yourself! I hear there's plenty of bypasses. :D

Well I guess I should reaffirm that I will be at this shindig. One of my army buddies from VA might be coming up and when we get together we create our own good time, so crazyness will ensue. :D

Douglas... is that a CIGAR in your hand in that pic? Tsk. You can bring your army buddy as long as he's not the one who proposed to Ms. Jerry Springer on the texas trip

I dunno if the rest of you are brave enough for this trip...so far the talk has run from Potato and paintball guns to a beer bong long enough to use from the top of a lifted truck (Explorer beer bong!!), plus I'm pretty sure I heard 'handcuffs' mentioned somewhere :D

if i make it the supersonic potato monster will be there :) Not really sure how that would work on a plane, hmm. seriously though money is tight as always and the beast is broken as always so it isnt as likely as i want it to be. if any way at all arises I will be there

explorer beer bong....omg that is amazing! i'll make one! (no cracks on the frat boy!)
and how many army guys are we gonna have? cause more then 3 can make for a really really fun time! hehe

If I still had my potato gun, I'd show you how its done, but you'll have to ask New Hanover Police Department for it back. :D
