2007 Ford Explorer Limite
I just posted to the introduction page and now I would like to ask a questions.

I just bought the 2007 Explorer Limited V8 6sp. It has 78K miles on it. Those miles seem to be easy miles as there is not a scratch anywhere on the vehicle.

My question - and I know this subject has been covered but I have a new twist on it...

My ride "stutters" sometimes while cruising between 35 and 50 mph. It's a little annoying but it's not harsh at all. Is this the transmission problem that everybody's been talking about? Does it get worse over time? How much concern should I give to this??

Thanks
Randy

That doesn't sound like transmission to me. It sounds more like spark plug or coil pack problems. Given that you have 78K, I'd try coil packs first. Go to an auto parts store and have the codes read. If it is bad enough it should throw a code.

Thanks TourGuide. I will give that a shot.

sounds like spark plugs, I always recommend to anybody buying a v8 to have the dealer change the plugs, because they break off in the engine when removing plugs let them deal with the headach, and also it like 120.00 for just the plugs
