Newbie - how to reset trip odometer?

Hay everyone.

I just bought my 2003 Explorer Limited and still learning.

I am trying to reset the trip odometer that is shown in the Message Centre.
The user guide dosen't tell you this, any advice?

frank, all you have to do is hold down the reset button on the message center buttons and it will reset, same as all the other options,except the odometer

So what is then the Trip/Reset button for?

I use the old fashioned button in the instrument cluster to reset the trip odometer; hitting reset in the msg center doesnt do anything.

You aren't holding the reset button down long enough.

based on the user manual:
"
Press and release the TRIP/RESET
button to toggle between odometer
and trip odometer display."

But when I am pressing it, nothing is happening.

any sugestions?
