2010 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer edition

Great vehicle but having trouble with the rear liftgate. The liftgate glass works fine but the lift gate itself will not go up. Acts like it's locked. That's why I'm here I need help.

Welcome to this forum! The electric actuator might be jammed.
This particular Ford Explorer has a lever that you squeeze to open the lift gate as you probably already know. Squeezing the lift gate by here nothing. Unfortunately I do not have a fob. It did not come with the vehicle when I purchased it pre-owned. From my research online some of these Ford explorers have a little access plate that you can take off with a small screwdriver and then manually open the liftgate. On this version there is no such place where you can pry it off and manually open it. Do you know where this manual lever can be found to open the tailgate so that I can examine the actuator? This is quite frustrating

I looked online for the fuse box location and contents for this particular vehicle and there is only one fuse under the dash for the liftgate. On some of the other models of Ford explorers there is also a fuse in the engine compartment for liftgate release but on this Eddie Bauer edition there is no listing for a liftgate release. So I am rather confused.

I have seen online that I can pry off the trim to get to the actuator but this one the trim is all one piece around the window and the door so how in the world do I get it off when the thing is closed.??

This is the newbie forum post. How do I actually post something on this forum. I don't see a link to do that.

Lastly, is there any way to get rid of all of these ads? I can't even see the screen cuz the ads are in the way.
