Just got the wife unit a 2k Mountaineer AWD 5.0. I have dug back a ways and looked at some MPG threads. Some of them are tuning related but I have a couple questions. How much worse is the AWD MPG over the 2wd versions? What would happen if I either removed the front driveshaft or added hubs to it if that is even possible? I don't know exactly how the AWD works on these. Is it tied to the ABS sensors which then locks up the transfer case to provide 50/50 or is it just a mechanical bias ie just another differential? I am also thinking an electric fan and if they ever make some good shorty headers for the 5.0 I would be all over that. I also own a Tweecer if anyone has played with one of those on their EEC.

Sounds like you got a nice Mounty for the wife unit.

I can't help u much other than to enjoy your suv and leave it alone.

That handle sounds strangely familiar. Do I know you? I never leave anything alone. If it gets near my tools....

I don't know... but I hear ya about the tools and not leaving stuff alone.

An electric fan will help you; mine sure does.
