95 Ford Ranger
My wife is getting sick of listening to me!!!!!!

I recently purchased a 95 Ranger 4.0L 5 spd manual 4 X 2 and am fixing it up. I bought it for $350.00 and other than a banged up box, and 215.000 miles it is in excellent condition. Bought a set of factory alum rims off e-bay for $125.00, and a set of new tires for $180.00 from a local tire shop. Oh, and swapped the front factory painted bumper for a chrome one for $40.00. So, with just under $700.00 into it so far, I think I'm doing good. Yes I have the FEVER!!!! Anyone have any ideas about fun stuff to do to it? Is there aftermarked Cruise Controls or air con units for it???

:burnout:

Just received my sliding rear window from UPS today....Took bout a half an hour to install it...SWEET!!!!!!!!!!!!

Howdy fellow Wisconsin native... I'm a displaced resident of Adams-Friendship...

I understand why you are excited - just finding a Ranger that isn't a rusty spot on the driveway is a big deal in the north. Just keep looking for stuff - trade for parts - have an idea of what you are looking to end up with (don't make it look like a misplaced J.C. Whitney catalog!) and you will be happy in your hobby.

Along the way, you will learn to do things, purchase tools that will last a lifetime, and have the satisfaction of knowing that you built your truck your way with your hands.

I always wanted to take a Ranger 2 wheel drive and tub the rear for huge meats - slam it, and stick in a nice 302 GT. That would be a fun ride... but for now, I am playing with the 4x4 stuff - have a built 86 Ranger - a built 92 Explorer, and a stocker 97 Explorer for my wife to drive. When we run trails, my wife will drive the Ex, I drive the Ranger and we all have fun. You gotta figure out a way to get the wife involved or she will just moan and groan about the parts costs.

i used to have a 93 ranger 4.0 2wd 5 speed manual. it was a lot faster than my 4.0 4x4 ranger is. actually, it completely screwed. that truck was awesome! good lcuk with it man! oh, here are a few mods to not waste your money on:

K&N drop in filter- $40 for no performance gains whatsoever
Flowmaster Dual Exhaust- $250 installed, sounds awesome, but adds next to no power

Mods i suggest: supercharger- $1500 and itll be sweeet

Ive got a extra bed sitting on my ranger now (i recently rolled one, but the bed is fine) but i dont think it would be worth shipping it all the way to wisonsin. if you want to cruize over to mass, you can have it for free!

Wow, what a deal. Throw some A/T tires on it and a camper shell and you are good to go.
