Greetings, I am looking at getting another Explorer soon to replace my 99 EB that was totalled last year. In reading some reviews on Edmunds there seems to be alot of complaints about the transmissions, radiators and diffs on the '06 and up models. I know that most folks don't post reviews on those sites unless they are upset about something so you generally don't hear the good news, just the bad.
But there were several posts that essentially said the owner had previously owned a 2nd Gen & 3rd Gen and the 2nd gen was the most trouble-free.
So I'm wondering if the members here can give me any insight on the tranny failure rate for the range of say '04 to '07 year model 4wd V6 X's?
