Nissan Titan Credible?

I feel about the same way as JasonB. I loved my lemon Explorer so much I had to trade it on another. I figured I could deal with it if I wasn't smoking a tranny every year. It's getting ready to have a lot of parts on the front end replaced that are premature, and I can feel the headache already starting. I'm stuck withthis truck for the long haul and I hope it is better to me then my last one. Ford has horrible customer service, and plays ignorant to many known problems.

I think it is a really great truck. I have only heard good things about them.

Pictures? i dont think ive ever seen it! lol

Great engine and workmanship for a truck that looks butt ugly.

Just for comparison.

Ok, I just got *cough*conned*cough* into test driving one today. The crew cab, leather, dvd, ALL those bells and whistles. Ratings: Ride 8, Comfort 8, Interior 8, exterior 7, power 9, driveability 8.

Its got that cableless throttle system, which I did not totaly care for. Engine response is much different than cable system.

I did however like the fact that it does have a tranny temp on the dash and an electric cooler for it.

Well have to take it back to the lot, if anyone has any questions I will be glad to answer them. That is if I left anything out you might want to know.

Sticker Price was $35,900.

Still partial to my X-Sport, they will prolly have to bury me in it....lol

Can you see very well? Im asking that because in consumer reports they said that it was hard to see around the Titan and the A pillars were in the way.

I did notice that myself. The windshield it a little narrower (right-left) than usual and the "a" pillers are a little thicker than usual obstructing the view on the right and left front sides. So consumer reports would be accurate with that comment. Not impossible to see, just "different".

I dont care what anyone says....I want a 2005 mustang, and I think that ford has made vast improvements in styling and ride.

See in those pictures I think the Titan is better looking. I think its definately a tough looking truck.

As for the throttle by wire they are very annoying I agree, my Lexus has one. I still don't know what was wrong with an ordinary tethered throttle.

I agree, I prefer throttle by cable myself. It gives you more control. Cuz if that "wire" goes out, like most electronics do. You couldn't drive it. Especially if you are a hard driver.

I think the Titan is nice! It is clearly designed with WAF in mind... wife acceptance factor... but hey, is that such a bad thing?! It looks TOUGHER to me than the new F-150s... and with a higher WAF, you are more likely to get it!

If you get on the throttle too quick it gives you a nasty kick as it lags to try and figure out what you want it to so. You hit the gas, it says "What?" then you go. You get used to it...

Yeah, probably doesnt have a fast enough processor in it to catch a qwik floorboard. Probably an Intel chip :p

Yes, the most annoying thing about these damn luxury cars! ;)

I love hitting the kickdown button with my toes at part throttle so the control systems go "HUH?!" even more. Flooring the Benz is like "Please wait.... downloading.... 10%, 50%, 99%, zipppppp!" ... flooring the BMW is like "ZIPPPPP!" ... there is little advantage other than possible MPG to the TBW if you ask me. And I am still not used to it. It is like the newer chevy's with the crazy fuel computers that try to burn as little gas as possible... if ANYTHING is abnormal in the fuel system it's 100x worse! Too much technology can be a bad thing!

The wife's Rav4 is pretty quick if you're all alone inside. Once you load it with 4 adults and you floor it... the 140-hp engine is like "yea... riiiiight."
