No 4x4 until warm...

talking about a 2002 Sport - V6 with auto - I can't switch the T-case to 4x4 until the engine warms-up - after that it works OK both ways, on nad off. What could be a problem?

How cold is in in Poland? I remember the bitter cold days in Wisconsin where the shifter motor was literally frozen and after the truck ran for a while it would shift. My recommendation, leave it in 4 high if you think you'll need it in the morning.

Weather around here is just like Chicago without all the humidity. It's not that cold now - barelly dropping near the freezing mark. Problem is, it's not my truck - I sold it to the guy a few months ago and now he's coming to me with this problem - not *****ing - the guy just wants it fixed. I think I'm gonna check oil level in the transfer case, replace it perhaps and take shift motor apart, clean, lube...

I thought that perhaps someone had been dealing with the same issue.
