A few thousand miles ago the lights went out on the stock radio setup (AM/FM/CD player with changer and clock) and I can't tell which channel I'm on. The lights have come back on a couple of times for a short time, then gone back out again. Anybody else have this problem or a suggestion how to fix?

a lot of people have this, including myself. some people claim they fixed it by re-soldering some connections, but others have just left it or bought a new head unit. try a search for info on it - theres a thread or 2 that tells you how to attempt the fix in detail.

yeh from what ive heard its real common on 98s. it went out on my dads 98 also. but he has his news radio stations programmed in anyway so it doesnt bug him. id just get a new head unit, it would probably be more of a pain in the ass to try and fix the old one

My 99's died soon after I got it and I put up with it until I decided to go MP3.

A very common problem.

LOL...

but it isnt really original. people used to do that a long time ago. back in the 50's.

yeh but not many people have done it since then. so its reinvented itself
