No forward gears.

Help! My 92' EXP 4.0 with A4LD with OD made a loud clunk when trying a fast take off. It now will not engage any gear except reverse. My cousin said to check the modulator valve, I am not a mechanic or expert by any means, but possibly it is something more than the modulator vacuum? Thanks.

Welcome to this forum! I've moved your thread into the transmissions & transfer cases section. It's possible that you might have broken a one way sprag. Drop the pan to see if there are any metal fragments.
