I have a 1991 Ford Explorer Sport that I have had for several years. At one point, the four wheel drive "worked" in 4wd hi for a bit. But, after four wheeling one time, it quit working... I work in a automotive shop, and was able to put it up in the air on a lift the other day. When I push the four wheel drive "hi" switch, the light on the switch comes on as well as the "4x4" light on the dash. The problem that concerns me is that the front drive shaft dosent even spin! 4wd "low" has never ever worked for me (no light, no 4wd low). I read several pages on rebuilding/repairing the transfer case shift motor, but I think it's working to a certain extent. How do I know if I have a damaged transfer case? Any help with diagnosing the problem would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

the best place to start is with a dvom and a wiring diagram and make sure you have power when and where you are supposed to.
