I have a 2000 Explorer XLT that is having issues starting. When the weather is a little warmer, the truck starts right up. Now that the temperature is in the 20's, it just cranks and does not get fuel.

If I run it every day, it seems to be OK, but if it sits for a few days in the cold --- no fuel.

In the really cold weather, I cannot hear the fuel pump prime the line with fuel.

I have swapped relays and checked all fuses and the fuel shutoff switch appears fine.

Once it is running, it runs great.

This weekend, I am going to try replacing the fuel filter as a start.

Any ideas what to check or where the electrical connections are I should look at?

Any advice is appreciated.

Couple thoughts:

1) Replace the fuel filter as you mentioned
2) Try a fuel additive. Maybe you have just enough moisture in your fuel line that it freezes in colder temps?

Heet is an antifreeze for the gas line and tank may want to try that also
