No Grease/Seal at EEC-V Module?

I found it interesting that there was no grease or even a rubber seal at the EEC-V Module multipin connector at the firewall. Is this the norm? Lots of black dust in there, though. Thx, Mark

the blue rubber is the seal....
 






That's interesting; I expected a seal around the perimeter. Should I swipe silicone grease across the blue rubber before reinstallation?

I don't believe it's necessary, but I actually put small dots of dielectric grease in each pin-hole on the plug.
