The trucks fan blower works, the A/C works, but I can not get heat when I turn the controller to the hot (red) side. The air box behind the glove compartment is hot, so I believe things are good from the heater core, but turning the temp. controller does nothing.

Blend air door or blocked heater core would be my guess.....

I've read a little about the blend door being broken, but what is the actuator. Is that what opens the blend door. How do I know if that is good or bad?

The blend air is a pretty common problem......Yes the actuator runs the blend air door.

I also had one heater core clogged on the inlet engine side that caused the same thing to happen...have you flushed it out lately?

So it's probably one of the two? Blend door broken or actuator not working?

Thanks

...Do a search on here for the 1995 explorers with the same problem you are having...It is common for the controller and or solenoid to go bad on these...

...My 95 Ranger does the same thing but intermittently ...
