I just did a head job om my 1992 4.0. After getting it all back together. It ran ok but it has no power. I started look to see if all the cylinder are firing. I started seeing if pulling the plug wires would change the way it runs. When I started to pull the wires on the left side I could not get to the plugs so I started pulling the wires out of the Coil - Ignition . When I pulled the first wire it sparked and I had a fire from gas fumes that seam to be building up around the top of the engine. That was scary!! Got the fire out and the engine still starts and runs.

I am still smelling gas fumes so now I think This might be the case of the lack of power.

What should I check on the upper or lower Intake manifold that would be casing the gas fumes and lack of power

You probably have a leak at the injectors or fuel rail. Did you replace the o-rings when you put everything back together? Did you tighten the fuel line fittings all the way? Check these and have a fire extinguisher at the ready!!

You are lucky that you did not do permenent damage to yourself or your truck. Be careful and good luck

It was the Fuel Pressure regulator o-Ring. It was leaking like a sieve have replaced it and all my hard plastic vacuum lines because they melted. This is also way it did not have any power I think but I have not driven it yet will do that tomorrow.
