I will have the people come get the X if I can't get it to start. I hate to see it go with so many good parts and time in it.

Today I replaced the ignition control relay because there was no power at terminal #8 of the ignition control module connector with the key "On". The manual says that is B+ voltage. After replacing the relay I checked all terminals. The only one that has power is terminal #5 - crankshaft position sensor neg. Does this sound right?

The relay socket looked good. All the fuses in the distribution box are good on both sides (from the top). I haven't checked the interior fuses lately. Will do that tomorrow.

Fusible link?

do you hear the fuel pump come on when you try to crank the engine?

Could be a fusible link. Is there one that only affects ignition? Everything else seems to be fine. I know the ignition relay is energizing. I can feel it when I connect the battery. I don't know where to look next. The wiring schematic is a little confusing to me.

I hear the fuel pump prime before I crank the engine. It's new. And I have 40psi at the rail.

The positive battery cable was replaced a few months ago. And I remember right after that the engine was very hard to start. It would after a lot of cranking.

The "ignition" switch is mounted on top of the steering column and is a common failure. (fact)

Hearing a "click" when connecting the battery cable is confirmation of nothing. (note)

Take a long break and revisit the problem with a fresh mind. (advise)
