Hi guys, today I started my 04 Ex. after a week, parked in the garage. I put it in reverse but didn't give it any gas pedal, it usually drives back slowly from the garage into the driveway, it didn't move until I press the accelerator then jerked back and afterwards drove perfectly back and forth. Could it be that the brakes were locked, since I powerwashed it before storing in the garage? What do you think?

solenoid body. probably sticking internally.

does it do it only when the car is cold??

Well, the car was cold in the garage, the first time it has ever done it... I try again tonight after four hours turned off, and work perfectly. I guess I'll have to keep an eye on it. It could be [hopefully] that the brakes locked on it. As I said the first time it ever hesitated. Thanks for your replies.

Check the transmission fluid level. You have to climb under the truck, and remove a plug.

This, or it is possible that the brakes were sticky. I have had that happen before, although on other vehicles.

for brakes to stick, that would of have been so rust buildup in a week....

Solenod pack was a tsb from ford for harsh/ delayed reverse engagement on 2004 and early 2005
