No reverse on my 92 Explorer.

Does anyone have any suggestions or possible solutions as to why my 1992 Ford Explorer will not go in reverse?

Welcome to this forum! I've moved your post into its own thread in the transmission section. We need more information to make a diagnosis of the problem. Do you have a 2WD or a 4WD? Do you have manual 1st gear? Did you check the fluid level, and the pressure with a 0-300 PSI test gauge? How many miles does it have? Did you ever rebuild the valve body?

Please forgive me for the lack of information in my post. I have a 1992 Ford Explorer 4WD with automatic transmission. It currently has 61,000 miles on it. As it stands, I have checked the fluid level, dropped the pan and changed the filter, replaced the fluid. Still no reverse but it does go forward. Thats where I left off. I didn't consider pressure checking the transmission with a gauge, or rebuilding the valve body.

Sometimes it could have a chipped low/reverse servo or bad O rings. A bad shift rail & shift fork in the transfer case could also cause a lack of reverse gear.
