Hi everybody.
After receiving some very useful info on replacing the instrument cluster light bulbs with LEDs, I am now hoping for your expert advice on how to get the sound back from my 7000 RDS-EON radio...
All other systems work, i.e. I get sound from the CDs when using the CD changer and also when playing tapes/cassettes. The radio will even lock onto stations when searching, but no sound is heard, not FM, MW or LW:mad:. All components are OEM as far as I know. '98 XLT.

double check where the antenna plugs into your headunit

Thanks for the suggestions - it didn't work, however. I removed the antenna/head unit connection, tightened it and scratched the fittings, but the problem remains....

There is a pre-amp section in the radio part of the stereo. The CD's and Tapes do not use this preamp, the signal from them goes right to the output amplifier. Sorry to say, the radio is hosed on yours but good news, it is something that can be repaired, but a shop will have to repair it.

Thanks Fixxxer. I'll leave things as they are and just tune the radio via the tape adapter/mp3 player whenever I need to listen to FM...
