no sound!

Out of ####ing nowhere, the sound just stopped working. All the speaker wires check out, replaced the deck... WTF IS WRONG WITH THIS POS?

Power to the deck is fine, everything works.. just no sound.

I'm just getting so pissed at this..

Power is fine, it turns on... no sound... the first time it happened... I took out the fuse from the deck.. and put it back in... worked again. 2nd time, didn't work. Randomly the sound would start again. Now I get nothing, I just replaced the deck like... 20 minutes ago.. tore apart every door and checked the speaker wires..


I just don't know man... this is stupid... There's no reason at all this should be happening.. is there some hidden fuse that would cause this I'm not seeing?

do you have factory amplifiers? if so do you have aftermarket speakers?

alot of time car with factory amps have weird ass ohm ratings, bose is usally 8 ohm stable, monsoon is usually 6-8 ohm stable, and most aftermarket coax speakers are 4 ohms, thus putting extra strain on the amps, and eventually causing them to fail or pop a fuse.....

I have aftermarket 150w speakers, and the deck is a 200w deck. Both "DUAL" brand.

Sound came back last night, but then it went away the next time I got into the truck?

What could this be?

It can come back when I'm moving, or when I'm still. All the wires looked fine, no bare wires... everything was connected.... I just don't understand. [I mean obviously the speaker wires are fine if when it comes back, all the speakers are working flawlessly.]

And you used shrink wrap, and can't see what's going on there; Also, did you check the inside of the radio?

my suggesting is to take a digital multimeter and test every wire...starting at the furthest point of contact.

A little bit, yes. It's working now though. [for now] I've noticed a pattern though... it works when the truck is warmed up.

You need to test all the wires coming from the HU when it is not working and compare them to what they should be when they ARE working. Check the connections at the fuse panel. You may have a loose wire

Well then my next suggesting would be to hard wire everything. Run dedicated power, ground, acc, and speaker wires. If you have no problems, then you can back-track it
