2002 Ford Explorer
Hello Everyone,
So here is my dilemma, 2002 Explorer turns over but will not start, the plugs, plug wires, coil, mass airflow sensor, crankshaft position sensor, fuel filter, and fuel pump have all been replaced as of this weekend. Still to no avail it will not start. The inertia switch is pushed in. Also when the scan tool is plugged in it is bringing up 0 dts, I feel as if I should be pulling codes. We pulled a plug and it fired up very roughly which we found odd, was able to reproduce this time and time again. I am at a loss for what to even look at next. Any help would greatly be appreciated.

Start with basics. compression, fuel, spark. if u have compression, check for spark, if u have spark, spray starting fluid in air intake. if it lights off momentarily u most likely have a fuel delivery issue.

I'm in the same boat as you, 02 Explorer 4.6 V8. Engine turns over but will not start. New fuel pump assembly, fuel filter, spark plugs, in the middle of changing the crankshaft position sensor. Seems as if nothing I do will get it to start, think my next step is flushing the fuel rail and cleaning the injectors. I'm getting pressure at the fuel rail, which I wasn't before. Did you have to remove the AC compressor to be able to change the crankshaft position sensor?
