I've been chasing down a P0351 after an engine rebuild. Long story short both suggested here on these forums and in this video I decided to attempt to reset the PCM in an attempt to get the car to forget the issue and maybe maybe resolve it.
That may sound stupid (because it is) but at this point I've replaced the entire ignition system including plugs, plug wires, and the coil pack and I've tested the wiring harness, still getting the P0351. I'm really close to basically pulling the PCM anyway TBH, so this was a what-the-hell kind of thing.
I removed both battery terminals, and used an alligator clip to bridge the car's ground and positive terminals, and.............. yeah.
Car dash is fine.
Wireless keyfob works.
I can get the car to aux fine.
I can see the mileage.
Car seems to pass it's own little self-diagnosis just fine (it's in the setup menu on the little LCD).
But it will not start. I turn the key and get a little *click* but that's it. Dash lights do not die, they stay on. Brand new battery tested at 12.3v.
The anti-theft light (the one in the front-center of the car dash) flashes until I put it in aux, where it goes solid and then goes away. Does not come back on when attempting to start.
Do I need a tech to come out and pair keys or do a parameter reset or something?
I only have one of the OEM keys.
