Hi guys, I'm a broke college student so if i can make my own repairs is best. I know how to work on cars but diagnosing is the problem.

Here is the situation

i go to gas station fill up. When i am ready to leave I turn the key and i get a no start. I sat there for 10 mins waiting for a budy to show up and then I crank it once again it started right up.

I have recently had an idling problem, while in drive the vehicle will idle at 500 rpm but then it will go up to 1000 rpm and them come down to 500.

I changed the idle air control valve, spark plug cables, and spark plugs and it still did the same thing during idling.

Can anyone point me in a direction? Thank, highly appreciated

do you have a check engine light? if so take it to autozone or some place like that, they will plug it in to a scanner and read the codes for you.

for free.....just ask them to scan your car for codes.

no check engine light. This is the 2nd time i get a no start in about a year and a half. But then she starts right back up

Welcome to this forum! I've moved your thread into the stock 95-01 section. Do you hear the fuel pump prime when you turn the key? You might have a problem with the fuel pump relay, pump, fuse or the inertia switch.

What happenned when it would not start? Crank and no fire-up or no cranking at all? What year and engine? Check for vacuum leaks

the engine just cranked and no fire. the engine its a 99 sohc v6
