Hey, I am new to working on my own car, although I want to get more involved. Currently, my 2003 explorer is quite loud on the road, especially as the speed gets closer and at highway speed. Going 75 is extremely loud, and the car overall does not feel 100% sure footed. The vibrations are quite annoying, although they are not terrible through the steering wheel, although it is felt a bit.
From looking at these forums I figured a bearing could be the problem, as there is slightly more noise when turning one way compared to the other at speed, but when i lifted the car and and tried to see if there was any play of the wheel, I found it to be minimal, and similar in both of the front wheels. If you do not think this is the bearing, what do you think it could be, and if it is or is not the bearings, would this be an easy fix?
