noise at highway speed

i have a 2001 trac it has recently started having a deep pitch drone sound starting at around 70 mph have been unable to locate were it could be coming from. iof any one has any ideas it would be appr.

You'll have to get an idea of which end of the truck it's coming from. Could be ANY of the rotating assemblies.............

My Sport Trac is a 4x4 so if your is not then never mind this post. Your problem may be in the rear differential. driveshaft etc. I had a similar problem recently only my problem was more noticable at lower speed. Finally found a good mechanic that knew what he was doing.. At first I suspected something inside the differential like the bearings. Well it turned out to be the front hub assemblies. Both were shot. Cost me like $200 each plus labor to replace.
