Hey all,
When the thermastat in my 03 Explorer is changed from cold to hot a clicking noise is heard just under and behind the center of the dash. If you turn the fan on high you can hear a flap slam shut. It soulds like I have a vent door sticking. I've never pulled the dash apart but what the heck. Got as far as seeing the heater core and could not make it any farther. It soulds like the door is just above the heater core.
So how do I get to this area? I do not mind buying a book, just which one will get me where I need to go? Or if someone can tell me how to get in there that would be great.
Almost forgot. If you move the thermastat back to cold you will get AC but only out of the floor vents at your feet. You then get the original noise when you go back to heat.
Thanks
