Hi all this is my first time so please be kind...
My 96 explorer was towed home the other day with a diagnosis of a dropped valve or valve spring (made by roadside assistance). I have removed the left hand side rocker cover and discover all the valves and valve spring in place and working fine. Compression check etc. BUT i have notice on turning the engine over that the timing chain tensioner(looks like an oversize cam follower) is jumping in and out a lot and making a noise. I suspect that this is not normal and i will replace it. Is there anything else I should be looking at also????
Thanks Dave@australia
