Hi
This is my first post. I am a COMPLETE non-mechanic but rather than spend money on someone else fixing it, would like to at least have tried fixing it myself first.

I have a '98 Eddie B. 4.0 SOHC 6 cylinder with 49K miles on it.

Can someone please tell me (or preferably attach pic) where the starter is on my '98 Eddie B. ? Also where is the relay/solenoid that you can jumper to test the starter?

I have read many posts here which relate to my intermittent starting problem (continous clicking from under the hood) and most center around the starter, corroded cables, relay/solenoid. But I do not know where these things are under the hood :) . Can someone please tell me???

Thank you!

The starter in mounted into the bellhousing on the low driver's side at the back of the engine. The solenoid sits right on the starter, you will recognize the bolt (s) coming out the end with a heavy wire attached to one and a smaller wire attached to the other. You jump to the smaller one. It may be covered by a rubber boot. Move that aside.
