2003 Explorer XLT
Hi!

I have a 2003 Explorer XLT and want to replace the body mounts.

I have read several threads on body mounts but not found any solution apart from OEM parts at around $900. Which seems ludicrous to me.

The parts seem so simple to me and I just cant get over the OEM price for what you actually get, a few rubber pieces that deteriorate.

A Daystar kit, if one existed for this car, would be around $150-200. They have one for Explorer up to 2001 (item Number: KF04009BK).

Prothane does not list the Explorer past 1994, nor do they have an email address they can be contacted at.

So I hope someone here can suggest a solution. I suspect some compatibale polyurethane components are out there for a good price, its just a pain to find them.

I believe these are the OEM part numbers needed. Body mount bushings with quanities and attaching parts:
eight -N802289-S2: WASHER
six -W706534-S436: BOLT
two 1L2Z-1000154-AA: INSULATOR
four 1L2Z-1000154-BA: INSULATOR
two 1L2Z-1000155-AA: INSULATOR
four 3L2Z-1000155-CA: INSULATOR
two -N621946-S2: NUT
two -W708783-S426: INSULATOR
two F5TZ-1000145-GA: SHIM
two 1L2Z-1000154-CB: INSULATOR
two 1L2Z-1000155-CA:INSULATOR
two -N800442-S436: BOLT
two 3L2Z-1000154-AA: INSULATOR
two 1L2Z-1000155-DA: INSULATOR

TIA!

Can someone confirm that this will fit a non-sport trac explorer?

When I select the product it says "Fits Sport Trac Models Only"

When I asked Daystar for body mounts back in May, they said "Sorry to say we don’t have a body mounts kit for your Ford Explorer XLT.".

I wouldn't be surprised if they fit, I just want to have it confirmed before ordering as I wont be able to return it.

As I understand the non-sport trac explorer got a new frame in 2002, whereas the sport trac retained the old frame a few years so that's why I am a bit uncertain.

Anyone tried?

TIA!

I called Daystar today and unfortunately they confirmed that this will likely not fit. They recommend to post in forums and have more people call them to say that its needed, then they will start making it. So for now they only make the Sport Trac version and cannot confirm if that works with the Explorer.
