Not an Explorer, but here's my 01 Ranger Edge

Stock, the day I bought it (next to dad's 68 289):

As of yesterday:

Current mods are as follows:
- 32x11.50 BFGoodrich ATs
- Torsion bars cranked for 2" front lift
- Kenwood 12" sub with 300W amp
- Clear corners
- Painted stock Edge grille black
- EDGE decals removed
- 4.10 LS (to be installed)
- Custom center console (in progress)

Still to come:
- 1.5" lift shackles
- Black billet grille
- Rocksliders/step bars
- Line-X and bedcover
- maybe a winch?

Nothing too fancy, but I like it. Treats me better than my 94 Ex did. Now I just need to win the lotto so I can finish building this truck. At least the Ex was paid off

replace the antenna with a black one and it will look sick! very nice, the painting of the grill is a great idea and i think i might do it for my ex, never seen it done like that! i love the blackness, very much what i'm trying to do other then i have the grey bumpers and flairs...keep up the good work!

thanks for the compliments, and the antenna is black i swapped the stock silver one with the one off my 94 Ex, which is black and has the plastic cover thing. looks a little slicker that way. thanks again for the props.

Trade? Hell, as long as I can keep my tires and wheels and put em on the ST, I'm down for it.

There is one company making the headlights now, but I'm thinking of doing the "mod" myself. Several guys on the Ranger Power Sports forum have sucessfully removed the lenses from the housing and were able to paint the background the body color, which is essentially the same thing the ones on Ebay are. Instead of black though, I'm thinking about doing it with spray tint- that way it will have a dark chrome look instead of just black. Gonna try it on the corners first in case I screw it up.

If your talking about heating the corners to remove the lenses be very careful. They are pretty cheaper in their design and melt very easy. I have heard a few horror stories about the corners but they are cheap to buy new ones and start over. The headlight mod is an awesome look. I say do it and keep up the good work.

I cant believe that I am the only one that is so obsessive compulsive about BLACK that changes the antenna to a black one!!!! lol
